& Placement
At Bougie Bengals, our kittens are raised through a natural rearing, behavior-focused, and holistic wellness-based program designed to support both physical health and emotional stability from birth.
Our breeder is a cat behavior specialist, pet nutrition coach, and holistic wellness advocate, bringing a deeper level of understanding to feline development, emotional well-being, and long-term health. Every decision in our program, from breeding choices to daily care, is guided by these principles.
We raise a limited number of litters each year so each kitten receives individualized attention, structured enrichment, and intentional social development in a calm, home-based environment.
Our Natural Rearing Philosophy
Natural rearing is the foundation of our program.
We focus on supporting the kitten’s overall immune system, emotional development, and overall resilience through low-stress care, quality nutrition, enrichment, and thoughtful socialization.
Our approach emphasizes:
• An enriched home environment
• Minimal stress and gentle handling
• Species-appropriate nutrition
• Immune and gut support
• Nurture natural feline development
• Thoughtful exposure to household life and outdoor events
• Emotional security through consistent human interaction
Rather than relying on high-volume practices, we focus on nurturing each kitten in a way that supports long-term health, confidence, and adaptability. To learn more click here to visit our Natural Rearing page.
Behavior-Focused Development
As a cat behavior specialist, we pay close attention to each kitten’s cognitive development and emotional growth, confidence level, and social tendencies.
Our kittens are:
• Raised in a home environment, not a kennel setting
• Gently handled from an early age
• Exposed to everyday household sounds and routines
• Encouraged to explore and problem-solve
• Supported through positive human interaction
• Observed for individual personality traits
• Introduced to the harness and leash to encourage family outings
• Exposed to car rides and traveling in a stroller before coming home
This allows us to help guide families toward the kitten that best fits their lifestyle and expectations. To learn more click here to visit our Cat Behavior page
Holistic Nutrition & Wellness Support
Nutrition plays a critical role in both behavior and physical health as well as emotional health.
Our program emphasizes:
• High-quality, species-appropriate raw diet nutrition
• Gut and immune system support for long term health
• Natural wellness practices
• Careful dietary transitions
• Lifelong support and education for our kitten families
Families receive guidance on feeding, supplementation, and long-term nutritional care to help their kitten thrive well beyond the early months. To learn more click here to visit our Cat Nutrition page.
Health Testing & Wellness
Overall health is a foundational part of our breeding program. We invest in comprehensive genetic and cardiac screening to help reduce the risk of inherited conditions and to support the long-term well-being of every kitten and retired adult placed through our program.
Our breeding cats are tested for:
• PRA-b (Progressive Retinal Atrophy)
• PK-deficiency (Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency)
• Feline Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD)
• HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) through routine screenings performed by a board-certified veterinary cardiologist
Health results are used to guide responsible breeding decisions, and parent testing information is available to approved families. Click here to learn more about health testing.

Our Placement Process
We believe that where a kitten goes matters just as much as how they are raised. Our goal is not fast placements-it’s successful, lifelong matches.
Before placing a kitten, we:
• Learn about your lifestyle and expectations
• Discuss long-term care and enrichment needs
• Provide education on Bengal behavior
• Offer honest guidance and recommendations
• Match personalities thoughtfully
Our high quality kitten's are $3,500 and this reflects the level of care, expertise, and intentional practices that go into every stage of our program. From carefully planned pairings to natural rearing, behavior-focused socialization, holistic wellness support, and thoughtful placement, each kitten receives individualized attention in an enriched home environment.
We do not operate as a high-volume breeding program. By keeping our program small, we are able to invest more time, resources, and hands-on care into each kitten’s physical health, emotional development, and long-term success. We provide ongoing support to our kitten families and remain always available for guidance on behavior, nutrition, and wellness throughout your cat’s life.
